The Chicago Blackhawks topped the Minnesota Wild 5-1 Monday night at Xcel Energy Center. The game was tied at one midway through the second period, but the Wild had no answer for Chicago's offense as the contest wore on.

The Blackhawks scored the lone first period goal when Patrick Sharp beat Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom at 17:33 for a 1-0 lead.

The Wild tied the game at 11:32 of the second period when Mikael Granlund found Jason Pominville on the right wing for Pominville's seventh of the season.

Chicago scored the next four goals, two in the second and two in the third, to run away with the win.

The loss snapped a three game Minnesota winning streak. The Wild are host to the Montreal Canadiens Friday night in St. Paul.
