Harry DeFreaz, 94, Eden Valley

June 19, 1920 - May 9, 2015

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Eden Valley for Harry DeFreaz, age 94 of Litchfield who passed away Saturday at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the funeral home in Eden Valley and burial will be at Eden Lake Cemetery.

Harry was born June 19, 1920 in Eden Valley to Herman and Lena (Schmitz) DeFreaz. He married Matilda Welliver Freund on June 8, 1967. He lived in Eden Valley all his life and worked as a handyman doing various jobs. He also worked on mink farms in the Eden Valley area in his younger years. Harry enjoyed crafts, gardening and being outdoors. He was a hard worker with a kind, gentle soul.

Survivors include his children, JoAnn (Myron) Hlad of St. Cloud, Frank (Joyce) Freund of St. Cloud, Charles W. Freund, III (Shirley) of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Christina Hlad, Sally (Jeff) Nestor, Rhonda (Ryan) Conda, Melanie Hlad (Minn) , Kerry (Tyler) Schaff, Frank Freund, Jr., Nicole (Matthew) Leinonen, Stephanie Freund; and eight great grandchildren. Harry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Matilda on April 6, 2014; sister, Ann and brother, Carl.
