Harriet E. Flygare, 95, Annandale

May 7, 1921 – March 29, 2017

Harriet Elizabeth (Nordberg) Flygare, age 95, Annandale, MN, passed away on the morning of March 29 at the Annandale Care Center, Annandale, MN. Her daughter, Paula, was with her holding her.

Harriet was born May 7, 1921 in South Haven, MN to Orvis and Flora (Kuhnley) Nordberg. She grew up on the family farm before becoming a teacher. Harriet attended the St. Cloud Teachers College and taught in East Chain and Annandale, MN schools. She married Everard T. Flygare on August 18, 1945. They resided on Lake Sylvia and raised a family of three daughters. She was an active member of Annandale Methodist Church. Harriet enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing.

She is survived by daughters, Meredith (Jim) Tompkins of Floyd, VA; Gwenyth (Mark) Oien of Strafford, NH; and Paula Petty of Clearwater, MN; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Everard on December 19, 2005, sister, Ardis Moore and brothers, Calvin and Elwyn Nordberg.

She will be missed by all.
