Harold W. Slocum, 82, St. Cloud

September 11, 1934 - November 3, 2016

A memorial service will be held at 10:30AM Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in St. Cloud for Harold W. Slocum, age 82 of St. Cloud who died Thursday. Rev. Bruce Timm will officiate and burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls. Relatives and friends may gather after 9:30AM Wednesday at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Harold was born in Cedar Rapids, IA to the late Harold and Swanie (Ennege) Slocum. He married Ruth Garms on June 21, 1959 at the Sioux Valley Lutheran Church in Sioux Valley, MN. Harold proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a teacher for 38 years retiring in 1993. He taught at the High Schools in Canby and Albert Lea and also at the Vocational Technical College in Albert Lea. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in St. Cloud. Harold loved spending time with his family and friends.

Survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ruth; his sons, Brad and Craig (Mary) both of St. Cloud; granddaughter, Katie and brothers, Earl (Rita)of Brewster, Bruce (Carolyn) of Windom; sisters, Donna (Corky) Salstrom of Mesa, AZ and Alice Reese of Eau Claire, OK.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Stanley, Steve and infant brother, Danny; sisters, Ruth Kroge, Patsy McGregor and infant sister, Janice.
