Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Harold J. Smoley, 92, of St. Cloud will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Harry passed away peacefully with family by his side on Monday, September 19, 2016 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Entombment will be in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum, St. Cloud.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Harry was born on April 3, 1924 in St. Stephen, Minnesota to Joseph and Wilhelmina (Huschle) Smoley. He married Rosella “Sally” Scheeler on July 13, 1946 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pearl Lake. Harry was employed first for Dairyland Creamery for five years and secondly for Tanner Systems for the remainder of his working career. He was a lifetime member of Holy Spirit Parish.

Harry was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed racing and was a co- owner and pitman of a race car (4-F). Above all, Harry treasured spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Sally; children, Joanie (Ralph) Rymer of Foley, Ronald (Judy) Smoley of Sartell, Renee (Ervin) Prom of Brooklyn Park, Rick Smoley (Karla Stavos) of St. Cloud; 9 grandchildren; 9 great- grandchildren; brothers and sister, LeRoy (Jean) Smoley of Watkins, Marion Skudlarek of Rice, Richard (Sandy) Barthelemy of Annandale; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sister, Casper Smoley, Jerome Smoley and Alice Lobb.
Memorials are preferred.
