ST. JOSEPH -- An organization which helps connect local food producers with local buyers is holding an event Monday to get the two sides together.

Renewing the Countryside Spokeswoman Lisa Baker says the idea is to strengthen connections between local farmers and community institutions like schools, hospitals and long-term care facilities.

Baker says the idea is to get locally grown food on the tables in central Minnesota and also keep tax dollars home.

Registrations are being taken through the weekend. The event will be held Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the College of St. Benedict Gorecki Center in St. Joseph.
