SARTELL -- GREAT Theatre gave residents of The Legends at Heritage Place in Sartell a special holiday treat on Wednesday night.

Members of the theater group visited with the assisted living community, singing Christmas carols and songs from their upcoming musical, Mary Poppins.

"We were invited to come and sing tonight by the staff and we couldn't be more honored to sing to them tonight," says GREAT Theatre director Aimee Miron.

"This performance is special -- it's special to [these] residents, but it's also special to me and my cast."

Miron says being able to connect with the residents through the performances and brightening their night was her favorite part.

"Watching my cast make that connection between their performance and those audience members who might not be able to come to the show, but can just as equally enjoy the story that we're telling," Miron says. "Mary Poppins is for all of us -- big and small, poor and rich, young and old."

GREAT Theatre's production of Mary Poppins will run from January 15th to the 26th at the College of St. Benedict.
