One of Disney's most beloved creations, The Little Mermaid is coming to the Paramount stage this weekend, as G.R.E.A.T. Theatre takes on the calypso-infused musical numbers and deep-sea characters.

Earlier today, I invited a couple of the cast members to join me on my show; Mary Kate Burchill, who plays Ariel and Sam Twardy, who carries the role of Sebastion sat down for an interview, and a pair of songs. Joining us was Dennis Whipple, GREAT Theatre's Director.

The show is Directed by Jon Legg, with musical Direction by Hillary Vermillion, and they sure have done their job. Both Mary Kate and Sam have wonderful voices, and they each gave us a few verses of their signature songs from the play.

Dennis says the production features a cast of 44 kids, aged 7-18 years-old, and that the sets and production design are pretty unique. He mentioned that there are a lot of lighting effects that create the illusion of most of the show taking place under the water.

Mary Kate, moved to St. Cloud from Stillwater, so she could be close for the rehearsals and show, while Sam lives in Monticello and commutes.
