ST. CLOUD -- Holiday hilarity will ensue with GREAT Theatre's production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever opening Friday night at the Paramount Theatre.

The show tells the story of the rambunctious Herdman kids, considered a terror of teachers, parents and fellow students, as they land major roles in the Christmas pageant.

"It's fun and it still keeps that spirit of Christmas," says actor Stephen Klemp, who will share the stage with his daughter, Sophie. "But the chaos that ensues is also fun to be a part of."

"It's a heartwarming tale," says director Linda McGowan. "We have Christmas carols -- you can sing along -- and it's a fun cast, [people] will enjoy it."

This is the second time McGowan will direct the show -- which was at the Paramount in 2007 -- and she says the characters in this show may seem familiar to some in the audience.

"My cast has created characters that you would meet in St. Cloud," McGowan says. "They're [based on] your neighbors, your workmates and people you run into at the grocery store."

"It's a good time, this is one of the shows where you walk out feeling really good and you're entertained and you just feel happy."

You can get tickets for this hilarious and heartfelt show for $19 with discounts for seniors and children.
