Great River Regional Library Names Executive Director

ST. CLOUD - The Great River Regional Library board of trustees have named Karen Pundsack as their permanent executive director.

Pundsack has been serving as interim director since last July, she replaced former executive director Kristy Smith. She was one of three candidates interviewed in person following a nationwide candidate search.

Pundsack joined Great River Regional Library in 1999 as manager of the Sauk Centre Branch. She is a graduate of Albany High School and has a degree in mass communications from St. Cloud State University, as well as a master's degree of library and information science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

She is active in various professional library associations and has been a panel presenter at Minnesota Library Association conferences.
