The St. Cloud State Husky men's hockey team dropped the opener of a best-of-three series with Miami University 5-4 in overtime Friday night at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. Senior defenseman Kevin Gravel scored the tying goal with just 0.1 second left in the third period.

The teams went back-and-forth for the entirety of the contest, with Miami University striking first at the 2:40 mark of the first period and last at 10:10 of overtime to earn the win. In between Miami goals Tim Daly and Nic Dowd scored, and Gravel struck twice.

The Huskies and RedHawks will play game two of the series Saturday night at the Brooks Center.
