Grass Fires Keep Crews Busy on Saturday

UNDATED - The Kimball fire department was called to a grass fire at Highway 15 and Dellwood Road in Maine Prairie Township at about noon on Saturday.  They were able to put out the fire in about 15 minutes.

The Stearns County Dispatch received another call of a grass fire just a few minutes later on County Road 141, east of Highway 15, in St. Augusta.  The St. Augusta fire department responded to the fire, which involved a large grass and wooded area.  The fire also involved a number of haybales, which were in a nearby field.  The Kimball and Rockville fire departments assisted with the fire.

The cause of the two fires has not been determined, and it's not known if they're related.
