ST. CLOUD - What kind of beer would William Shakespeare drink? Well, we don't exactly know, but regardless, Granite City Food and Brewery has a limited-edition brew named in the playwright's honor.

"Shakesbeer" was created to recognize St. Cloud's GREAT Theatre Company. A small group of GREAT Theatre members met up with St. Cloud mayor Dave Kleis at Granite City on Friday afternoon for the first taste of the hoppy craft beer.

The mayor's opinion?

The GREAT Theatre is currently staging "West Side Story," well-known as the 1950s spin on Shakespeare's classic "Romeo and Juliet."

As for "Shakesbeer," it will be available at Granite City through next week - or as long as supplies last.
