ST. CLOUD -- It was a good turnout this afternoon at the first ever Granite City On Tap - a festival featuring over 100 craft beers showcased from breweries from all over the United States.

Hundreds of beer lovers from the area came out to the Benton County Fairgrounds to enjoy music, games, and free samples of craft beer.

The festival was brought to St. Cloud by America On Tap, a company that organizes craft beer festivals across the country.

America On Tap's Vice President, A.J. Bodden, says holding these festivals in cities like St. Cloud as opposed to the Twin Cities is important to his company.

"I'm doing these [festivals] here because I think these are the communities that really will come out and buy in to an event like this," Bodden says.

Bodden says the plan is to grow the event year after year with more breweries and residents becoming involved.

"My favorite part is seeing all the local breweries come into these events, as well as national breweries, and have the opportunity to market themselves on a local level," Bodden says.

"To be able to come out and see it take place in a local community like this, it's really exciting for me."
