Grace M. Nelson, age 91, Sauk Rapids, MN died Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids, MN.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Sauk Rapids, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.

Grace was born on August 1, 1924 to John & Bertha (Scofield) DeMars in Brownton, MN. She grew up in North Mankato, MN and graduated from Mankato High School in 1942. Grace married Lyle P. Nelson on April 10, 1943 in Hastings, Neb. after Lyle’s time in the service they moved back to Mankato. Grace also lived in Fairmont, Litchfield, Grove City, St. Cloud and Sauk Rapids. Grace loved to read and was very energetic, spirited person.

She is survived by children, Diane (Richard) Poukey of Appleton, WI; Daniel (Johanna) Nelson of Duluth, MN; David Nelson of Bloomington, MN; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on August 18, 1982; four children, Kathy Rodriquez, Steve Nelson, Cheryl Miley and Doug Nelson; four brothers and two sisters.

Memorials are preferred.
