ST. CLOUD -- The governor of Minnesota will swing through St. Cloud next week to make a case for his revised budget.
Governor Mark Dayton will speak at the St. Cloud City Council Chambers from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Dayton's revised proposal includes raising taxes on the top 2% of state income earners and increasing funding to education.
According to the governor's website, taxes would be raised on 750 residents in Stearns County, which would provide an additional $4.7 million to area schools.
Local Government Aid to the City of St. Cloud would also increase by $2.2 million.
A total new investment in St. Cloud is listed at more than $8.8 million.
Community members are encouraged to attend as the event is free and open to the public.
