Governor Taps Kleis to Head Tax Reform Committee [AUDIO]

ST. PAUL - St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis joined Governor Mark Dayton at a news conference this (Thursday) morning.

Kleis says he's been asked to co-chair a statewide committee to discuss tax reform and local government aid to cities.

The other co-chair is Minnapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak.  They'll meet throughout this year, and then make recommendations to the Governor in January of 2013.

The Governor got the idea to form this committee while he was live on WJON last year.  Dayton was having a live conversation with Kleis about Local Government Aid and that's when the Governor asked Kleis to chair a committee.
