UNDATED - There's a good chance you'll be getting a letter from Governor Mark Dayton in the next few days.  The state has kicked-off a campaign called "Own Your Future Minnesota".  It's urging everyone between the ages of 40 and 65 to starting preparing for longterm healthcare.

Craig Roers is a member of the State Task Force on Longerm Care.  He says longterm care used to mean just nursing home care, but that has changed over the years.

Roers says people have misconceptions on how they'll pay for longterm care.  He says state programs like Medical Assistance don't kick in until you're basically destitute.

The letter you receive in the mail will outline how you can begin preparing for your future.
