ST. PAUL (AP) - Gov. Mark Dayton's office has announced some details of a water summit he'll convene in late February.

Registration opened Thursday for the gathering, which will be held Saturday, Feb. 27, at the InterContinental Saint Paul Riverfront hotel.

The governor's office says the summit will focus public attention on the challenges facing Minnesota's water supplies - in both rural and urban areas - and foster a dialogue on steps to address those challenges. The meeting will bring together water quality experts, farmers, legislators, regulators, the business community, the public, local leaders and other stakeholders.

The agenda and speakers have not yet been announced.

Ahead of the summit, the governor's office is encouraging Minnesotans to take part in an online survey on water issues, regardless of whether they plan to attend.
