ROGERS -- Governor Mark Dayton dedicated an expansion project on Interstate 94 today.

Dayton joined other dignitaries in Rogers to mark the opening of two new lanes of I-94 between Rogers and St. Michael.

The expansion brings I-94 to six lanes between Highway 241 and Highway 101 northwest of the Twin Cities metro area. The project included adding a lane on each side of the roadway, expanded bridges, extended acceleration lanes and the construction of a noise wall on the north side of the interstate near Rogers.

The $28,300,000 project was part of the Corridors of Commerce program to improve roadways where freight is moved to market.
