ST. CLOUD - Talks between Governor Mark Dayton and Republican Legislative leaders have been few and far between, since the state government shutdown began.

When the two sides finally do meet face-to-face again that might happen here in St. Cloud.  During the Governor's stop in St. Cloud today (Tuesday), Republican Representative Steve Gottwalt made the public offer to host the negotiations.

Governor Dayton says, he's open to the idea.

Republican leaders are expected to make a counter proposal soon.  The two sides have only met twice for an hour each since the shutdown began on July 1st.
