Gordon R. Hove, 68, St. Cloud

Gordon Ray Hove, age 68, St. Cloud, MN, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Methodist Hospital, Rochester, MN.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Calvary Community Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be Monday, March 27, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in Darling Cemetery, Morrison County, MN.

Gordon was born February 6, 1949 in Webster, SD to George M. and Theora P. (Dokter) Hove. He graduated in 1967 from Pierpont High School, Pierpont, SD where he had been active in sports and music and was selected for All State Choir and All State Band. In 1968 Gordon graduated from Lake Area Vocational School, Watertown, SD. On July 29, 1978, Gordon was united in marriage to Shirley J. Lindborg in St. Cloud, MN. He was employed by Chader Business Equipment of St. Cloud, MN for 36 years, where he eventually became co-owner/service manager. Gordon was a member of Park Fellowship Church of Sartell, MN and sang with the Great River Chorale. He enjoyed fixing things, singing, cutting wood, camping, gardening, basketball, baseball and softball (especially pitching), reading, snowmobiling, driving, horseshoes and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Hove of St. Cloud, MN; son, Erik (Katherine) Hove of Chicago, IL; daughter, Krista (Steve) Windingland of Lewisville,TX; brother, George (Joyce) Hove of Elizabeth, AR; sister, Ann Mortenson of Sioux Falls, SD; five grandchildren, Wesley, Micah and Lindsey Windingland and Emera and Eloise Hove; and nephew, Mark Mortenson of Sioux Falls, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
