Gopher senior forward/center Trevor Mbakwe has been named the Big Ten player of the week for leading the Gophers to wins over #1 Indiana and last place Penn State.  Mbakwe posted double-doubles in both Gopher wins including a season high 21 points and 12 rebounds in the win over Indiana.

This is Mbakwe's 2nd Big Ten player of the week honor.  The last time a Gopher player won this award was in November of 2012 when Andre Hollins won it for scoring 41 points against Memphis.

Indiana's Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell and Wisconsin's Sam Dekker shared the freshman of the week honors in the Big Ten.

Gonzaga is the #1 team in the nation in the Associated Press poll this week.  The Gopher are not ranked in the Top 25 but did receive 10 votes.

The 20-9 Gophers will play at Nebraska at 8pm Wednesday, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 7:30.
