GOP Seeks 2nd Probe of Democrat’s Role at Nonprofit
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A Democratic state senator accused of ethical violations says a new complaint filed against him amounts to a rehash of past allegations.
Sen. Jeff Hayden of Minneapolis responded Friday to the complaint filed by the Senate's Republican leader. It questions Hayden's role and perks he received as a board member for a troubled Minneapolis nonprofit.
GOP Sen. David Hann contends Hayden lied under oath to the ethics committee about misspending at Community Action Minneapolis.
In a statement, Hayden described the allegations as "unfounded personal attacks."
The Senate ethics subcommittee must hold a hearing to review the complaint within 30 days.
