ST. PAUL - We're just in the first week of the state legislative session and already Republican lawmakers are floating the idea of putting another constitutional amendment on the November ballot.  The amendment would require voters to produce a photo ID.

Republican Representative Tim O'Driscoll of Sartell says he realizes not everyone has a valid photo id, but they should.

O'Driscoll says he'd prefer to put a bill together that the Governor would sign, rather than go the amendment route.  However, DFL Representative Larry Hosch says the bill the governor vetoed last session was not flexible enough.

Dayton would have no way of blocking or changing a proposed constitutional amendment.
