ST. PAUL  (AP) -- Minnesota's 2011 legislative session will be dominated by talk about the state budget deficit. Republicans who run the House and Senate are raising the curtain on that discussion.

The GOP majorities planned Tuesday to lay out the first part of a budget fix. Minnesota is projected to run a $6.2 billion budget deficit over the next two years.

Lawmakers have until May to set a new budget. Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton won't detail his full budget until Feb. 15.

Control of the Legislature shifted away from Democrats in last fall's election.
