BROOTEN -- A 15-year-old Glenwood boy was seriously hurt when he fell off the bumper of an SUV and struck his head on the pavement.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says Dylon Jergenson was standing on the bumper of the GMC Yukon and was holding down a duck blind on the roof Sunday when the accident happened. Two other boys, 17-year-old Owen Rajdl of Villard and 16-year-old Payton VanBeck of Brooten were inside the vehicle also holding down the duck blind as 17-year-old Jayden Miller of Brooten drove the SUV.

The sheriff's office says the wind caught the blind, blew it off the roof and knocked Jergenson off the bumper. He landed on the pavement and struck his head.

Jergenson was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital with serious injuries. He was later taken to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis.

The incident happened Sunday morning just before 7:00 a.m. on County Road 27 northeast of Brooten.
