Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am Friday, August 19, 2016, at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Long Prairie for Glenn P. Luberts, age 68, of Long Prairie, who passed away on Sunday in God’s Country. Fr. Omar Guanchez will officiate and burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Camp Ripley, Minnesota. Family and friends may call from 4-7 pm Thursday and after 9 am Friday at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home – Stein Chapel, Long Prairie.

Glenn Peter Luberts was born April 11, 1948 in Long Prairie, Minnesota, to Edwin H. and Elvera M. (Tabatt) Luberts. He grew up in Long Prairie and graduated from Long Prairie High School in 1966. He joined the United States Navy in 1966 and served until 1969 and then in the Navy Reserves until 1972. He lived in several communities in Central Minnesota doing TV and appliance repair.

Glenn loved to hunt, especially deer, bear, and turkey. He enjoyed camping in the North Country or as he referred to it as “God’s Country.” He also liked to read and was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. Glenn also played baseball and softball for many years. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Glenn is survived by his children, Lonny (Paula) Luberts, Sauk Centre; Leslie (Chad) Thesing, Albany; Julie (Shawn) Hansen, Royalton; and Joni (Jonathan) Young, Long Prairie; his mother, Elvera Luberts, Long Prairie; siblings, Nancy Schwanke, Hutchinson; Pete (Tina) Luberts, John (DeDe Szech) Luberts, and DeAnna (Dale) Theiler, all of Long Prairie; brothers-in-law, Jim Rosch, Long Prairie, and Jim Fahlin, Browerville; also 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, two daughters, Stacey and Nichole, and three sisters, Mary Luella, Lucy Rosch, and Linda Fahlin, brothers-in-law, Randy Schwanke, Jerry Line, and John Wozniak.

Casket bearers will be Josh Luberts, Jesse Theiler, Troy Wozniak, Logan Meyer, Chris Schwanke, Dan Schwanke, Todd Line, and Tim Line.
