Glenn D. Heitzman, 79, Cold Spring

A gathering of relatives and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 25, 2017 at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring for Glenn David Heitzman, age 79, who died Tuesday at Cherrywood Advance Living in Richmond. A Memorial Service will be at 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in McClusky, ND.
Glenn David Heitzman was born May 29, 1938 in Harvey, North Dakota. He grew up in McClusky, ND and attended grade school and high school, graduating in 1956. Glenn attended V.C. State for 1 ½ years and then enlisted in the U.S. Marines where he worked as a Cryptographer. He then graduated from the University of North Dakota and attended Graduate School of Banking in Wisconsin. During his banking career, he worked in banks in Fargo, Mpls, Paynesville, Brooten, Devils Lake and in 1983, he purchased the 1st National Bank of Cold Spring.
His activities in the communities where he lived involved local clubs, hunting, fishing, and raising his Labradors. Glenn was also an avid reader, especially of early American political figures.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mary; one son, Christian; and his brother, Earl of California.
