BROOKLYN PARK (AP) - Court records show the 3-year-old girl found dead in an apartment pool in Brooklyn Park was under the protective supervision of Hennepin County.

The supervision requires the county to closely monitor the child's well-being. Police removed the girl and her six siblings from their home last November after one of the children was found with severe injuries that could not be explained by the parents. That 1-year-old injured child was placed in foster care. The remaining children were returned home with protective supervision.

The girl was found dead early Monday in the apartment pool where she had been swimming Sunday with other children. Brooklyn Park police are still investigating the case. But, Deputy Chief Mark Bruley says investigators have found no cause for criminal charges right now.
