ST. CLOUD  (AP) - A German agricultural equipment manufacturer has picked St. Cloud to launch its first U.S. operations.

Geringhoff, of Ahlen, Germany, expects its $20 million plant will employ about 100 people. The 132-year company evaluated 40 U.S. factories before deciding on a former door and lumber plant in St. Cloud's Airport Industrial Park.

The state will provide Geringhoff with a $500,000 loan. Geringhoff CEO Daniel Hansmeier says St. Cloud will be a foundation to create an even larger presence across North America.

Gov. Mark Dayton, other state officials and Geringhoff executives will meet in St. Cloud Tuesday.
