He was married to Marjorie Ann Hanscom on Novermber 28, 1958 and later divorced. He met the love of his life Mary Kay Donabaur in 1994 and they currently reside in Jacobs Prairie, MN.

He was a man of many talents. One of his first jobs was working for his Uncle Paul at the Cold Spring Record, helping set type and learning the art of lino-type. He moved his family to Red Lodge, MT to pursue the print industry. Being so far from his family proved to be too much and the family quickly returned to Minnesota. He then took a job as a lino-type operator at The Hart Press (Banta Publications) in Long Prairie, MN where he worked for a number of years. The family moved to a hobby farm near Grey Eagle, MN. He then decided to try his hand as an entrepreneur and opened his own feed store in Little Sauk, MN and later purchased the Little Sauk Cafe. Shortly after being divorced he moved to Surprise, AZ, where he took over his Uncle Paul’s printing business. He remained in Arizona until 1992 before returning to St. Cloud, MN where he opened Graphic Enterprise and worked until his retirement in 2000.

Jerry was an avid outdoors man, enjoying golfing, fishing, hunting and trapping. He also enjoyed bowling, playing cards and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving companion of twenty years, Mary Kay Donabaur; sisters, Joan (Bob) Lewis, Maureen (Arthur) Milner, and brother, Donald (Carol) Honer; children; Patric (Rita) Honer, Sonja (Mike) Estwick, Theresa (Tom) Petermeier, Jerel Honer, and also Tara (Keith) Bierschbach, Holly (Luke) Kramer, Shawn (fiancée, Karen), Donabauer, and Dana Donabauer along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren and his two prized labs, Maggie and Meeka.
