Gerald Franklin Paasch, 95, Sauk Rapids and formerly of Sabin

April 24, 1921 - May 6, 2016

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Chapel in Sauk Rapids with Chaplain Donald Wilke officiating. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the chapel in Sauk Rapids. There will also be a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin with Rev. Brett Hartwig officiating for Gerald F. Paasch, age 95, of Sauk Rapids and formerly of Sabin who died Friday, May 6, 2016 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home of Sauk Rapids.

Gerald was born April 24, 1921 in Moorhead to Ernest and Amelia (Aigner) Paasch. He graduated from high school in Moorhead and joined the family farming operation. After his father’s death in 1951, he farmed with his brother, Almond, until he passed away in 1955. He married Thelma Boe on September 8, 1951 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin. He retired from farming in 1983. They moved to Moorhead in 2005 and lived there until moving to Sauk Rapids in 2007. Gerald was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin. He served on the Elmwood Township Board for 15 years and was a member of the Gun Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.

Survivors include his children, Jeff (Carol) Paasch of Nicollett, Nancy (Don) Cahen of Waukesha, WI, and Steve (Sue) Paasch of Rice; seven grandchildren and six great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Thelma on May 5, 2011; and brother, Almond.
