Gerald Alfred Lindstrom was born November 7, 1926 to Edwin and Anna (Reiman) Lindstrom in Greenbush Township. He died on December 16, 2016 at the age of 90 years and 39 days.

Gerald was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Princeton. He attended school in Greenbush and graduated from Princeton High School. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Japan and the Philippines. Following his discharge from the Army, he attended the Minnesota School of Business.

On August 14, 1948 he married Rebecca Jenson in Minneapolis. They farmed in Greenbush for a while and he also worked at several jobs before getting into the United States Postal Service. He worked there for 30 years, the last 12 years were as Postmaster. During some of these years while raising 4 children, he spent 12 years on the Princeton School Board. He was a 60 year member of the American Legion Post and 10 years with Glendorado VFW.

Gerald is survived by his wife of 68 years, Rebecca of Princeton; 4 children, Richard (Betty Wieland) of Fargo ND, Gene (Patrice) of Princeton, Barbara (Ron) Kiel of Milaca and Patricia (Michael) Papenhausen of Mora; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; sister Mary Ann (Larry) Johnson of Edina; and sister-in-law Karen Lindstrom.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Anna; and his brother Robert.

A Memorial Service will be on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 11:00AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Princeton. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton.

Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church and Princeton Parks.
