Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2015 at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls for George O. Andreassen, age 86, of Sauk Rapids who died Tuesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family funeral Home in Sauk Rapids.

George was born June 13, 1928 in Minneapolis. He grew up in Menomonie, WI and was a graduate of the University of Illinois in architecture. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. George married Joan Brack and they were later divorced. He married Bernadette Mueller in St. Cloud. George has been a resident of Sauk Rapids since 1981 and prior to that he lived in St. Cloud. He owned and operated the Key Motel in St. Cloud and worked as a Draftsman for Scott Whitnah in Minneapolis. George was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Sauk Rapids American Legion Post 254 and St. Cloud East Side VFW Post 4748. He loved going to the casino and watching the Green Bay Packers. George liked to draw and architecture remained a hobby.

George leaves behind his children, Scott (Julie) Andreassen of Ramsey, Susan (Kevin) Kopp of Chippewa Falls, WI, Sandra Andreassen of San Diego, CA and Stuart (Sunny) Andreassen of Mayer; step children, Particia (Walter) Cripe of Clear Lake, LaVonne (Dennis) Teske of Sauk Rapids and Richard Riedeman of Sauk Rapids; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his parents, Sigurd & Ruth (Hanson) Andreassen; first wife, Joan; second wife, Bernadette; infant sons, Jeffrey and Jerome; and sisters, Audrey Bailey, Joan Lee, Jane Halverson and Ann Swank.
