Gas Leak Forces Evacuation, Blocks Traffic

ST. CLOUD - Several buildings were evacuated last (Monday) night due to a gas leak.

St. Cloud police say they were called to the area of Anderson Avenue and 8th Street North just before 7:00 p.m.

A large amount of natural gas was escaping from a broken line, which had been accidentally punctured by Xcel Energy workers.

County Road 4 had to be blocked off for about an hour and 40 minutes until the leak had been fixed.
