COLD SPRING -- Cold Spring appointed a new council member at Tuesday night's meeting.

Gary Theisen was sworn in as the newest member of the council. Theisen will be serving the remainder of Fran Ramler's term, which is a little over two-years.

Ramler was appointed as mayor in September after former mayor Bob Thelen unexpectedly resigned, leaving his council seat open.

Theisen says he's anxious to get to work and his major concerns are road construction and bringing businesses into the town.

"I think our downtown redevelopment project is big, I think housing is big and I think taking care of our downtown community businesses are important."

Theisen has lived in Cold Spring for over 60-years and he recently retired from working as the director of corporate risk management at Coldspring, formerly known as Cold Spring Granite.
