Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Grace United Methodist Church in St. Cloud for Gary D. Abbott, age 69, who passed away Tuesday at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. Pastor Dianna Dunham will officiate and burial will be at the Kimball Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, 324 2nd Ave. S., Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the church.

Gary was born Oct. 28, 1945 in St. Cloud to Monroe & Melba (Adkins) Abbott. He grew up in Kimball and moved to Belgrade in 1972. He owned and operated Belgrade Drug for 35 years, retiring in 2007. Gary married Irene Schutz Pflueger on Dec. 18, 2014 at Grace United Methodist Church in St. Cloud. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church Family. Gary was also a member of the Kappa Psi Fraternity in college, the Lions Club, Minnesota Pharmacist Association for 25 years, Commercial Club for 27 years, Belgrade Patient Review Board from 1972-1979, Patriot Guard since 2006, and AA since 1985. He enjoyed woodworking, making rocking horses, windmills, Harley plaques, walking canes, bird houses and bird feeders. Gary also enjoyed motorcycles where his passion was Harley Davidsons. He was known for his great attention to detail. Gary had a great sense of humor, and was fun loving, joyful, gentle and good natured.

Survivors include his wife, Irene of Kimball; children and stepchildren, Heidi (Mark) Melby of New London, Joseph Abbott of Hugo, Jason (Erin) Abbott of Glencoe, Heather (Garrett) Anderson of St. Cloud, Christine (Jeffrey) Lambertson of Alexandria, Renee Weyer (fiancé, Bob Christien) of Becker, Sharon Pflueger of Pengilly, Robert (Allison) Pflueger of Foley, Michelle Pflueger of Minneapolis and Matthew (Sarah) Pflueger of Sauk Rapids; sisters and brother, Mavis (Larry) Miller of Sauk Rapids, Robert (Beverly) Abbott of Mound and Patty Abbott of St. Paul; 26 grandchildren and step grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill; and grandson, Andrew McCann.
