Gary A. Hiltner, 54, Eden Valley

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Church of Our Lady in Manannah for Gary A. Hiltner, age 54, who passed away Thursday at Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. Rev. Joseph Steinbeisser will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Church of Our Lady in Manannah and one hour prior to the services Tuesday also at the church. Parish prayers will be at 8:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Eden Valley.

Gary was born April 4, 1960 in Melrose to Edwin & Clara (Wolbeck) Hiltner. He married Sara Cleveland on May 19, 1979 in Regal. They lived in Hawick prior to moving to Eden Valley in 1995. Gary was a turkey farmer and a member of Church of Our Lady in Manannah. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, landscaping, mowing lawn, hosting fish fry’s, attending his children’s sporting events, and spending time with his grandchildren. Gary was a kind, gentle, protective man with a great sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife, Sara of Eden Valley; children, Amanda (Tom) Becker of Watkins, Jessica (Dan) Berg of Watkins, Joshua (Pami Mickel) Hiltner of Grove City and Adam (Hannah) Hiltner of Grove City; grandchildren, Masson, Haeden, Nicholas, Hayley, Torii, Isabelle and Broc; brothers and sisters, James (Jeannie) Hiltner of Eden Valley, Sylvester (Linda) Hiltner of Belgrade, David (Alice) Hiltner of Hawick, Marlene (Ken) Burg of New York Mills and Bernice (Marty) VanDorsten of Hawick; mother-in-law, Donna Rech of Eden Valley; and in-laws, Anna Hiltner of Wadena, Helen Hiltner of Paynesville and Jeff (Ginger) Rech of Grove City. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Jerome and Linus.
