EAGAN-- A Twin Cities suburb's 50th annual Fourth of July festival could be its last.

The majority of board members who run the city of Eagan's July 4th Funfest have reached their 10-year term limit and not enough people have stepped up to fill their slots. That means the committee will dissolve. The panel put out a news release in May seeking other organizations that might take over the festival and serve as host.

The festival is a highlight of the year for Eagan. It began Saturday with a blood drive and a children's bike parade and is scheduled to conclude Monday evening with fireworks.
