WAITE PARK -- This week in Fun Friday, we check out everything the scenic Quarry Park has to offer.

At about 684 acres and containing nearly 30 rock quarries, Quarry Park is one of the largest parks in Stearns County -- giving it ample room for countless activities from hiking and rock climbing to fishing and scuba diving.

"We welcome people of all ages to come enjoy the park's natural beauty," says County Parks Director Peter Theismann.

"It's a great place to hike on a breezy day and a great place to go swimming at the quarries -- a central Minnesota tradition."

Just last month, the park opened Quarry 11 for swimming and it features a sand beach, ledges and a dock to jump into the water from, and clean and clear water to swim in.
