ST. CLOUD -- If you have a passion for the outdoors, hiking, and searching, geocaching may be the right activity for you -- all you need is a smartphone.

Geocaching is essentially a scavenger hunt that you can do at just about any city or state park in which you search for a cache (a small, hidden container) with clues given to you by a free smartphone app.

There are nearly 20 geocaches in St. Cloud alone -- with varying degrees of difficulty in terms of clues and terrain -- and many more in parks in the surrounding area.

So the next time you're at a park, see if you have a geocache near you and add a little adventure to your day.

What you need to know:
WHERE: Almost every city and state park.
OPEN: Whatever hours city and state parks are open.
COST: Free. Both the activity and the app are free.
