ST. CLOUD -- A fugitive gang member from Baltimore, Maryland was arrested in St. Cloud yesterday after the FBI learned he was staying at a Waite Park apartment.

29-year-old Carlos Lizama who is a member of the violent MS-13 gang was wanted for his participation in a double murder in Maryland on January 8th, 2006. Lizama and two other men allegedly stabbed two members of the rival 18th Street Gang.

A federal charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution was added in May, 2010. Since then, the FBI learned Lizama may be living in Worthington, Minnesota.

Just this week, authorities learned he was staying with his wife and two kids at the Waite Park location. Police and FBI set up surveillance of the apartment and saw Lizama get into a green minivan and leave. They followed the car and arrested Lizama at the Wells Fargo Bank drive-through at 200 33rd Avenue South and arrested Lizama without incident.

Lizama, who also uses the name Carlos Morales, is being held in the Stearns County Jail until he can be extradited back to Maryland.

Two other suspects in the killings remain at-large.

Waite Park Police, St. Cloud Police and the Stearns County Sheriff's Department assisted the FBI in making the arrest.
