SARTELL - Despite the chilly weather friends and family members of 20-year-old Maurice Galvin Jr. gathered behind the Sartell Sprint Store Saturday night to pay him their respects.

Around 8:00 p.m. the group lit candles and released dozens of balloons in Galvin's honor. Many people were singing along to music and praying together. He was shot  in the chest around noon Thursday and died that same evening at St. Cloud Hospital.

Twenty-three-year-old Demetreus McGinnis has been charged with second degree murder in Galvin's death.

The judge ordered McGinnis held on $2,000,000 unconditional bail or $1,000,000 bail with court conditions. McGinnis was returned to jail and his next court hearing has been scheduled for March 28th. Police are still looking for the gun used in the shooting.
