ANOKA  (AP) — A Fridley woman will let a judge decide her fate for allegedly making her daughter run outside in a diaper with her head shaved as punishment for a failing grade.

The 38-year-old woman appeared Monday in Anoka County court and entered a "Lothenbach plea" to malicious punishment of a child, a gross misdemeanor. The plea allows the woman to maintain her innocence but requires her to accept the evidence and let a judge decide the outcome without hearing testimony.

Prosecutor Brenda Sund says Judge Barry Sullivan indicated he's inclined to find the woman guilty and set sentencing for Nov. 14. Any jail time would be capped at 90 days.

The woman's 34-year-old boyfriend is charged with the same offense. He goes on trial Monday.
