UNDATED - The National Weather Service says an area of light rain across the central Plains will move northward today, and reach the Iowa border this afternoon. This area of light rain will then spread across southern Minnesota, and into central Minnesota by early evening.

Stearns, Benton and Sherburne counties - and areas to our north - are in a Freezing Rain Advisory from 6:00 p.m. tonight (Thursday) through 6:00 a.m. tomorrow.

Some light freezing rain will develop across portions of central Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin this evening as temperatures hold near the freezing mark.

Areas of light rain, drizzle and fog will persist into Friday afternoon before a strong cold front moves across the state, and drops temperatures 15 to 30 degrees Friday night.
