UPSALA -- An 80-year-old man from Freeport was taken to the hospital yesterday (Saturday) morning after he turned in front of a car.

Mary Swenson from the Morrison County Sheriff's Office says the incident happened shortly after 8:30 a.m. on 30th Street near 60th Avenue in Elmdale Township near Upsala.

Eighty-year-old Denis Notch of Freeport was driving east on 30th Street and making a left-hand turn into Elmdale Town Hall when he turned in front of another car driven by 17-year-old Morgan Peschl of Foley.

Both cars collided and sustained substantial damage.

Notch was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. Peschl was treated at the scene by Gold Cross personnel.
