Freeport Man Asks Judge to Dismiss Raw Milk Charges

ST. CLOUD — A Stearns County judge hasn’t ruled on a motion to dismiss raw milk charges against a Freeport farmer. Judge Thomas Knapp has given lawyers three weeks to submit written arguments in the case.
Alvin Schlangen is charged with six counts of food-related violations. He is asking three to be dismissed…selling raw milk, operating without a food handler’s license and handling adulterated food.
Those are the same three charges Schlangen was found not guilty on in a Hennepin County court case in October. The remaining three charges are misdemeanors.
No trial date has been set yet.
