COLD SPRING - Four people applied for the open Cold Spring City Council seat.

The seat is open because former council member Bob Thelen was sworn in as mayor in January.

Cold Spring finance director Kris Dokendorf says the council will open the applications during their meeting next Tuesday. The Council will then interview applicants and pick a person during their meeting on March 10th.

Dokendorf is acting as city administrator until Paul Hetland returns from family-medical leave.

The deadline to apply for the position was on Friday, February 13th.

The city decided to have an open application process for the seat because it would have cost $2,500 for a special election.
