Foster Parents Lose License Following Baby Death
BEMIDJI, Minn. (AP) - The foster care license for a Bemidji couple has been revoked following the death of an infant.
A report from the Minnesota Department of Human Services says the foster parents violated protocol to prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
The baby died last July after being placed on a folded sleeping bag with blankets on top.
The department's report says the baby had also slept in a bouncy seat and car seat.
The foster parents told investigators the child would not fall asleep in a crib. The license revocation can be appealed.
